Biography
Originally from Leicester, but now based in West Yorkshire, Ellie has an eclectic mix of experiences which pull together to make her the unique musician that she is. Studying the piano and clarinet from an early age, she took on the saxophone later when the attraction of musical theatre proved too much.
With her knowledge of classical and contemporary music, along with her infectious enthusiasm for musical theatre, she is a lively and passionate performer and teacher.
Ellie Saunders studied for her BA (Hons) Music at Leeds College of Music receiving clarinet lessons from Mandy Burvill and saxophone lessons from Sarah Markham.
She has just spent a year studying for a PGCE in Secondary Music at Leeds Trinity University College on the School Centred Initial Teacher Training Course.
By playing Bb/A, Eb and Bass clarinet as well as Alto and Tenor saxophone Ellie has the flexibility to play mixed reeds parts in musical theatre pit bands and more contemporary orchestral arrangements.
